Exploration Green Phase 3B is part of the continuing development of the award-winning Exploration Green nature reserve in Clear Lake, Houston. This phase further expands the urban ecological restoration of a former golf course into stormwater retention ponds, native wetland habitats, and accessible green spaces. Phase 3B includes newly landscaped trails, bioengineered wetlands, and reforestation projects using native Texas plants. The area is part of a long-term vision to provide sustainable flood mitigation while enhancing community life with opportunities for birdwatching, fitness, and nature education. With over 1 million gallons of stormwater storage capacity, Phase 3B also improves water quality and provides vital habitat for migratory birds, butterflies, and amphibians. It connects to the larger trail network across Exploration Green, making it a key component in one of Houston’s leading examples of urban green infrastructure.
